Lollobrigida to skate with CadoMotus in 2016
Six times World champion Francesca Lollobrigida signed with Cádomotus for 2016, together with sister Giulia Lollobrigida and the Dutch Lisa van der Geest and Sharon Hendriks. The strong French inline skater Margaux Vigie will also join the team in most marathon races.
The four girls will race marathons in Europe, such as Berlin, Dijon, Rennes and races in the Netherlands and some of the Europacup track races such as in Gross Gerau and Heerde. The team will combine inline and ice speed skating. All four are ambitious ice skaters as well, with Lollobrigida and Van der Geest determined to race at the Olympic Games in 2018. 25-year-old Lollobrigida explains: “I’m very happy with this team, as we already have a close friendship. This winter we have worked together very well and one of the most important things in a team is trust. I trust these girls and I’m looking forward to work as a team, as I have raced alone for many years.”
Lollobrigida will focus on the European and World Championships. She is a 6 time World champion already, but skipped the Worlds last year as she focussed on ice speed skating. Last week she became 4th in the mass-start event at the World Championships long track. “This year the Worlds are in september so it fits in my program. I want to come back and win titles again. I’m very motivated to do good in my first year in this new CadoMotus team.”
The team will be racing on Cádomotus frames, Mariani boots and MPC wheels. Lollobrigida is already on Cádomotus equipment in winter, where she uses Marchese Record blades and Shinobi boots.
