What is CadoMotus?

The pure skating company. Pronounced "Kä-dō-Mō-tŭs" our name refers to the 'falling motion of the body' and the name, like our company, is behind every type of skating – Inline Skating & Inline Speed Skating, Downhill Speed Skating, Nordic Blading, Longtrack, Shorttrack & Marathon Ice Speedskating and XC Free Skiing.

Who are we?

From the designers of the DualBox – patented technology that raised the bar on inline frame design and performance, and NSX – active steering tubes that tamed the ice for longtrack and marathon ice skaters, CadoMotus' design roots have been at the forefront of skating since 1990. The team at CadoMotus has been behind radical departures from tradition that have redefined skating on many levels: skaters and designers who have turned concepts into world record-breaking vehicles powered by the human body.

With CadoMotus we have seized the opportunity to do things differently, to employ all of the 'ideals' we have longed for, and to create a brand and build a culture that is simply Pure Skating.

The People behind the Brand

CadoMotus is a Pure Skating Company built on and continued with the efforts of Pure Skating people. All owners and employees have a long history in inline and ice speed skating, and all of the ‘people behind the brand’ share the one ambition: a desire to make CadoMotus a leading brand, popularizing the Pure Skating Experience.

DIEDERIK HOL

Diederik Hol (NED, 1970)

Skater, Designer, Innovator, Adventurer

Diederik Hol is the Dutch designer/inventor of the DualBox inline skate frame and Narrow Shape Cross-Section (NSX) iceblade. After obtaining his Engineer’s degree from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, Hol was involved in the design evolution of the modern clapskate for ice and inline skating, and is the designer of a number of patented technologies released under the Mogema brand.

Following the decommissioning of Sportsinline International by its parent company in 2006, skating industry insiders tipped Hol would start his own company. In February of 2007, CadoMotus - 'Pure Skating Company' was launched.

Michael Byrne (AUS, 1974)

Skater, Coach, Designer, Developer

Michael Byrne is one of the World’s fastest skaters and a multiple World Inline Speed Skating Championship medallist over the last decade. A progression of his dedication to optimize his own skating gear, he was involved in developing inline skates for several years. Together with good friend Diederik Hol, Byrne was part of the birth of the CadoMotus company, and influenced the CadoMotus’ image, product line and worldview.

Byrne currently works on the corporate image and product development of the brand, besides still competing at the top World level as a skater.

Geert Plender (NED, 1984)

Skater, Journalist, Communicator, Salesman

Geert Plender strengthened the CadoMotus team this year. Being a top level ice and inline speed skater, he works on a part time basis as an office & sales assistant. Besides being the contact person for many customers, he uses his experience as a Bachelor of Communications – promoting the brand and finding new ways of marketing the products.

Tanya Dobbin (AUS, 1981)

Skater, Journalist, Administrator

Tanya Dobbin joined the team at the Netherlands-based headquarters in July 2008. The wife of skating champion Shane Dobbin, and a former inline speed skater herself, Tanya has been connected to inline teams and World leading brands for a number of years. Her addition adds further experience and evolved industry viewpoints to the business. Tanya works part-time in administration.
