"Training with Shane will be great", says Chad Hedrick ahead of the two skaters training together in Salt Lake in the lead-up to the Vancouver Games.
Wanting to skate under 6:35, Dobbin's 5,000 meter time of 6:22 in Berlin, Germany at the first World Cup race of the season was definitely impressive. Skating in the B-group, his time placed him 9th overall and ever-closer to realizing his Olympic dream.
Ex-inliner Chad Hedrick (USA), who gained the ice world's full attention after he succesfully switched from inline to ice and claimed Olympic gold in Salt Lake, will share the track with Shane Dobbin once again, after the two spent 15 years battling on inline skates at World Championships. Now the two skaters, who share an understanding of the benefits provided by an inline background, will train together in preparation for the Olympic Games.
